Barbie Is Back And You Will Not Believe What She Looks Like Now

Not so long back Barbie, yes, the doll that millions of little girls grew up playing with, was a pretty one-dimensional character. She was thin. Blonde. Busty. She had long hair and a tiny waist and long legs. Barbie wore pretty dresses and dreamed of growing up and marrying her prince – Ken.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t remember Barbie shooting the S%$T about politics or her aspirations of becoming an astronaut. I also don’t recall her rocking a cool, bleached white quiff – like ever. Barbie was a sweet girl – but she was not exactly bold, let alone complex. Chick knew her place … which was in the kitchen I think, or possibly the passenger seat of the camper van. Man, I wanted one of those! But I digress.

My point here is that Barbie was basically a 50’s housewife. Even when it was 2010! But, if you’re not been in touch with ol Barb of late then you’ll be excited to learn she has had an EPIC level makeover and frankly, it’s so cool I had to tell you about it.

For example, modern-day Barbie wears on trend T-shirts with super cool messages. Nice. Really nice. We want one actually.

She has cool friends with awesome hair who may or may not be attracted to women. Also, totally okay with us. Excellent even.

She’s totally on top of the flat-lay trend and honestly, her social media feed is quite something. Girl’s got skills.

She parties at Halloween and she does NOT feel the need to wear the slutty kitten outfit or Playboy bunny or any of that nonsense.

We weren’t kidding. Barbie is now fully across the current political situation in her home country of the US. Go girl. Sort it out.

Her friends come in all shapes and sizes. You know, like REGULAR girls and women. Finally. Barbie now represents the impressionable little girls who spend so many hours playing with her.

And now, without any fuss whatsoever, they can see that just like their beloved Barbie, they too can be president, gay, short, tall, thin, feminine, a tomboy, a mum, a firefighter, a librarian or perhaps all of those things and maybe, if they’re cool little chicks, dye their hair pink and purple.

Again can I just say – we are SO here for this. Barbie – come hang any time. You are absolutely one of us. And we love it.
