French women have something about them – that’s just impossible to deny. It’s a certain sassiness, a distinct charm and then there’s that incredible skin. You’ve already got the sass and we know you’re charm personified, but if you want the skin too then we have good news.
Turns out gorgeous, dewy fresh French girl skin is considerably easier to achieve than you might think. All you really need to do is get a decent night’s sleep and regularly. yes. It’s that simple, says Christine Clais, skin therapist and author of French Complexion – The Secrets to Beautiful Skin at Any Age (Viking). Christine suggests you make that happen by doing the following.
Skip the caffeine
Boring we know, but it can make sleeping difficult and tossing and turning all night means your skin will suffer.
“Caffeine is not only present in coffee, it is also in cola-based drinks, energy drinks, tea and chocolate,” says Christine. We know you know this but we figure a reminder can’t hurt.

Eat a decent lunch
We love this tip. According to Christine, French women always eat a hearty lunch so that they don’t overdo it of an evening. You see, a heavy meal late at night places stress on the digestive system, which can affect sleep.
“The added bonus to eating a more substantial lunch is having fewer cravings for sweets or fatty snacks in the afternoon,” she adds. So you know, you get a French girl figure too. #winning.
Or if you prefer your PJs less sexy and more cosy try this pair from Peter Alexander. You can find a variety here.
Wear an eye mask
Oh the glamour. And also the practicality. An eye mask will block light more effectively than curtains and so on which will help you sleep more deeply and for longer, says Christine. Got a partner who snores or live in the city where noise can be an issue? You might want to consider ear plugs too.
