Seven simple steps to absolute perfection

Perfect skin, gorgeous makeup. It can be done and better still, it can be done fast. All you need to do is follow these seven super simple steps and you’re out the door.

MicellarWater-(1)-bd

Try ModelCo Micellar Cleansing Water, $15. modelco.com.au

Cleanse that pretty face of yours. Use a gentle cream cleanser if you have the minutes to spare. Apply all over, massage gently, then remove with warm water and a soft cloth. No time for that? Grab a cotton pad and soak it with Micellar Water. This snappy little product cleanses, tones and softens skin with one quick wipe. And there’s no need to remove. Bonus!

Apply a light moisturiser that will absorb quickly. Smooth across the forehead, down the nose and outwards. Don’t forget your neck and décolletage or you’ll live to regret it (trust me on this). Skip eye cream. Instead, use a standard face moisturiser that is gentle enough for the thinner skin of the eye area. Any sensitive moisturiser will do.

protective-day-cream-spf-15-3403

Try DOVE protective Day Cream SPF15, $13.15. 1800 061 027.

While your moisturiser is absorbing, sweep a neutral shade of eye shadow across the eyelid and up the brow bone. A deep cream or suede is flattering on all colourings. Apply a second layer of eyeshadow in the crease of the eyelid (the area where the eyelid folds). This will make eyes appear larger and more doe-like. Seriously!

bd-elf-studio-cream-eyeshadow-2

Try e.l.f cosmetics Studio Cream Eyeshadow, $8. elfcosmetics.com.au

Add mascara. Add more mascara. Maybe even more mascara! Better still, have your lashes tinted blackest black every four to six weeks or, wear lash extensions. These faux lashes are glued to your real ones and last roughly six to eight weeks depending on how carefully you treat them.

clump-crusher-by-lashblast-mascara-62496

Try Covergirl Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara in Very Black, $17.95. cover girl.com.au

Apply a creamy concealer under the eyes and in the inner corners where dark circles often begin. Add a little to camouflage any teeny, tiny flaws. Good spots to consider are the outer corners of the eyes, the edges of the n
oses, the outer corners of the mouth and the crease of the chin.

creamy-concealer-36323

Try Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, $40. bobbibrown.com.au

Nothing makes a woman look more naturally beautiful than a flush of colour to the cheeks. Smile hard and apply a creamy blush to the area that pops the most. This is known as the apple of the cheeks. Relax, then blend upwards and outwards.

bourjois-aqua-blush

Try Bourjois Aqua Blush, $23. Priceline.com.au

A sheer lip gloss or balm with just a hint of colour and you’re good to go. The most flattering shades are in the red family – think plums, winter pinks and rich berries. If you prefer lipstick, apply it softly (doing it perfectly may take too much time) and then pat it with a finger for a modern stain effect.

100-natural-lip-crayon-74529

Try Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Crayon, $16.95. burtsbees.com.au
